This standard has specified the theory of test methods for heat of hydration of cement, instrument and equipment, laboratory condition, materials, computation of results and treatment.
This standard is applicable to moderate-heat Portland cement, low-heat Portland cement, low-heat slag Portland cement, Portland cement, ordinary Portland cement, slag Portland cement, volcanic ash Portland cement, and Portland fly-ash cement. For other kinds of cement, when the heat of solution method is adopted, the time for measuring cement temperature shall be determined.
In this standard, the heat of solution method is treated as reference method, direct method is treated as substitutive method. When there is dispute over the mensuration result, it shall be subject to reference method.
