Scope
This part of GB/T14048 specifies the terms and definitions, classification, characteristics, product data and information, normal operation, installation and transportation conditions, structural and performance requirements and tests of circuit breakers. This section applies to circuit breakers whose main contacts are used to connect to circuits with a rated voltage not exceeding 1000V AC or 1500V DC. They should be installed and operated by professionally trained and skilled personnel. This section also specifies additional requirements for circuit breakers with fuses. Circuit breakers with rated voltages higher than 1000V AC but not exceeding 1500V may be tested in accordance with this section. This section applies to circuit breakers of any rated current, various structural types or various intended uses. Requirements for circuit breakers used as earth fault protection are included in Appendix B. Additional requirements for electronic overcurrent protective circuit breakers are included in Appendix F. Additional requirements for IT system circuit breakers are included in Appendix H. The requirements and test methods for electromagnetic compatibility of circuit breakers are included in Appendix J. The requirements for circuit breakers without overcurrent protection are included in Appendix L. The requirements for residual current device modules (without internal current breaking device) are included in Annex M. The requirements and test methods for electromagnetic compatibility of circuit breaker accessories are included in Appendix N. The requirements for instantaneous trip circuit breakers (ICBs) are included in Appendix O. Requirements and test methods for DC circuit breakers for photovoltaic (PV) systems are included in Appendix P. The requirements and test methods for residual current protective circuit breakers with automatic reclosing function are included in Appendix R. Supplementary requirements for circuit breakers used as direct starters are specified in GB/T14048.4 applicable to low-voltage contactors and starters. The requirements for circuit breakers designed for the protection of conductors in buildings and similar places and for use by unskilled personnel are specified in GB/T10963. The requirements for circuit breakers for equipment (such as electrical appliances) are specified in GB/T17701. For circuit breakers for certain specific uses (such as traction, rolling mills, marine use, variable frequency drive downstream circuits and use in explosive environments), some necessary special provisions and supplementary requirements may be made. Note: The circuit breakers involved in this section may be equipped with devices that can automatically disconnect under predetermined conditions other than overcurrent and undervoltage, such as reverse power or reverse current disconnection devices. This section does not cover the verification of actions under such predetermined conditions. The purpose of this section is to specify: a) the characteristics of circuit breakers. b) The conditions that a circuit breaker should meet under the following circumstances: 1) Action and performance during normal operation; 2) Action and performance under overload conditions and short circuit conditions including combined use during operation (such as selective and backup protection) Cooperation) action and performance; 3) Dielectric properties. c) Various tests and test methods used to prove that the above conditions are met. d) Data marked or given on the circuit breaker.
