Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and requirements for marking, packaging, storage and transportation of large-diameter liquid nitrogen containers made of austenitic stainless steel (hereinafter referred to as containers). This standard is applicable to storage of liquid nitrogen at atmospheric pressure, with an effective volume of not more than 1830 L and a diameter of not less than 315mm, using high-vacuum multi-layer insulation containers. This standard does not apply to containers in the following scopes of use: - storage of liquid nitrogen under pressure; - storage of liquid oxygen and other cryogenic liquids.
