Analysis of the core content of the standard
Evolution of the standard and scope of application
This standard replaces GB/T 14598.2—2011 and is equivalent to the IEC 60255-1:2022 international standard. It is applicable to measuring relays and protection devices in power plants, substations and other scenarios, and covers the general technical requirements of distributed relay protection systems.

Key parameter requirements
Environmental adaptability indicators
The equipment must meet the operating temperature range of -10℃~+55℃ (Table 1). Special environments require additional statements. According to the installation site, it is divided into 4 climate zones (Appendix B):
- Zone A: Control room (temperature controlled)
- Zone D: Outdoor without protection (withstands -40℃~+70℃)
Electromagnetic compatibility performance
According to the requirements of IEC 60255-26, all ports must meet the following requirements:

Design verification requirements
- Type testing needs to cover 12 major items (Table 12), including:
- Climate environment test (6.12)
- Seismic test (IEC 60255-21-3)
- Communication protocol consistency verification (6.6)
- Product family certification requires difference analysis (Clause 7.2)
Network security implementation
According to the requirements of Clause 6.7, a protection system should be established in combination with the following standards:
- IEC 62443-4-2 (Industrial Control System Security)
- IEEE 1686-2013 (Smart Device Cybersecurity)
- Communication ports need to declare encryption and authentication mechanisms
