1. Background and significance of standard formulation

GB/T 14853 "Rubber Granulated Carbon Black" series of standards are important basic standards for China's rubber industry, aiming to standardize the quality inspection methods of rubber carbon black. Among them, Part 2 (Determination of fine powder content and particle abrasion) is a key indicator for product quality control.

  • Description optimization: Modify the operating details of the mechanical vibrating screen to improve the accuracy of the experimental results.

3. Experimental methods and steps

a) Determination of fine powder content

  1. Weigh 25g of carbon black sample and evenly distribute it on a 125μm test sieve.
  2. Place the test sieve on a mechanical sieve shaker, set the frequency to 220-320 r/min, and the vibration time to 5 minutes.
  3. Collect and weigh the mass of fine powder passing through the sieve, and calculate the fine powder content (see formula 7.1).

b) Determination of particle wear

  1. Continue to vibrate the tested sample on the test sieve for 15 minutes.
  2. Collect and weigh the mass of fine powder passing through the sieve again, and calculate the particle wear (see formula 7.2).
  3. Clean the test sieve and receiving tray to ensure that they do not affect the next experiment.

4. Equipment and instrument requirements

  • Mechanical vibrating screen: Slap or top-impact type, frequency 220-320 r/min.
  • Test sieve: R40/3 series in accordance with GB/T6003.1-2012 standard, diameter 200mm.
  • Balance: Graduation value is 0.1g, to ensure weighing accuracy.

5. Implementation suggestions

In actual operation, it is recommended that:

  1. Strictly follow the shaking time and frequency specified in the standard to conduct the experiment to ensure the accuracy of the results.
  2. When using the arbitration test method, it is preferred to use the middle position (the 3rd and 4th test sieves) for testing.
  3. Regularly calibrate the equipment to ensure that the frequency of the vibrating screen and the accuracy of the balance meet the requirements.
  4. The experimental report should record in detail the key parameters such as sample identification, mass, vibration time, etc., and perform numerical rounding according to GB/T8170.
