Scope

This standard is one of a series of standards describing the parameters of identification cards defined in Clause 4 and the use of identification cards in exchange. This standard specifies the physical characteristics of the identification card, including the material, structure, characteristics of the card and the dimensions of the four card specifications. GB/T 17554.1-2006 specifies the test procedures used to check whether the card complies with the parameters specified in this standard. This standard specifies the requirements for cards used for identification. It takes into account both human and machine aspects and states minimum requirements. The purpose of this series of standards is to provide a guideline that cards should follow. The quantity used is not taken into account in these standards, if any, it is checked according to the previous card test. Failure to meet the specified criteria should be negotiated between the parties involved.
