Method principle and technical points

Use spectrophotometer to determine titanium-diacpyridine methane yellow complex at a wavelength of 385nm. Key control points:

  1. Acidity control: 1.0-1.2mol/L hydrochloric acid medium (pH≈1)
  2. Color development time: 20min above 20℃, 40-60min below 20℃
  3. Interference elimination: Ascorbic acid reduces oxidizing ions such as Fe³⁺

  • Added the Platinum crucible ash treatment step (Clause 6.1)
  • Modified the calibration curve drawing method (Clause 8.5)

Implementation suggestions

Laboratory upgrade requirements:

  • Requires to be equipped with a muffle furnace (700-750℃ controllable)
  • It is recommended to use spectrally pure titanium dioxide (Clause 5.11)
  • The color developer must be prepared and used immediately (Clause 5.13)

Quality control points:

  1. Perform double parallel determination for each batch of samples (Clause 8.2)
  2. Handle abnormal data according to the flowchart in Appendix C
  3. Regularly verify the linearity of the calibration curve (r≥0.999)
