Scope
This document describes the analytical methods for cobalt-60 in water, including principles, reagents or materials, instruments, samples, experimental procedures, data processing, precision, quality assurance, and control. This document applies to the analysis of cobalt-60 in surface water, groundwater, drinking water, and liquid effluents from nuclear facilities. Under typical conditions, the detection limit is 9.9 mBq/L for the low-background α/β meter method and 8.4 mBq/L for the liquid scintillation counter method.
