Introduction

GB/T 15438-1995 Standard Overview

This standard specifies the ultraviolet photometric method for determining ozone in ambient air, applicable to the determination of ozone concentration in the range of $2.14~\mu\mathbf{g}/\mathbf{m}^3$ to $2~\mathbf{mg}/\mathbf{m}^3$ under the conditions of $25\,^\circ\text{C}$ and $101.325~\mathbf{kPa}$. This method is not applicable to environments with particle concentrations exceeding $100~\mu\mathbf{g}/\mathbf{m}^3$.

UV ozone analyzer is the core equipment and must meet the following conditions:

  • The absorption cell material is inert, with a loss rate of $\leq 5\%$
  • The UV lamp wavelength is $254~\mathsf{nm}$ and the radiation accounts for $\geq 99.5\%$
  • The sensitivity of the light detector: the standard deviation does not exceed $3\%$ of the concentration or $0.01~\mathbf{mg}/\mathbf{m}^3$

Implementation Advice

Calibration Procedure:

  1. Preheat system $48~\mathsf{h}$
  2. Zero Calibration: Use zero air to adjust response
  3. Span Calibration: Adjust analyzer at full scale conditions
  4. Multi-point Calibration: Verify with at least $5$ ozone concentrations

Operational Advice:
