Explanation of professional terms

Micronucleus: A fragment of genetic material formed by chromosome breakage during cell division, usually with the same color as the main nucleus.

Polychromatic erythrocytes (PC-E): Immature erythrocytes that can be distinguished from normal chromatin erythrocytes (NC-E) by selective staining.


Implementation suggestions

To ensure the accuracy of the test results:

  1. Mice are preferred as experimental animals, and rats can be used when necessary.
  2. Strictly control the exposure dose to avoid exceeding the recommended range of LD50.
  3. Use Giemsa staining solution and phosphate buffer for slide preparation and staining to ensure consistent observation conditions.
  4. At least 1000 polychromatic erythrocytes were counted for each animal, and the micronucleus rate was calculated.
