Scope
This International Standard describes two alternative general procedures (Method A and Method B) for any program that deals with sequential text organized in logical groups of records. Method A—Check the control front-end condition after termination of the appropriate hierarchy. Method B - Check the control front-end conditions prior to initialization of the appropriate hierarchy. Both are based on identifying each record to be processed, which is mutable and whose value affects the flow of control. The described process provides the basis for designing a program that: a) sequentially processes one or more input files; b) accesses each input file in a logical sequence of defined groups of records; c) records in each input file Contains specific data items that are used to determine whether there is a change in the control required in the processing sequence. The procedures described in this standard are subject to the following restrictions: a) use data items that can identify control changes to form a logical sequence of layers, so that a control change at a layer implies a control change at a lower layer; b) this standard only describes input files processed sequentially; c) the described process does not specify routines that depend on user issues or installations, and in particular does not detail the following points: 1) complete process initialization; 2) for more than one input file access sequence of volumes; 3) assembly method of logical records for processing; 4) corresponding actions to be taken with or without control breaks at any level; 5) normal processing if any; 6) complete process termination
