《GB/T 16288-2008塑料制品的标志》由TC48（全国塑料制品标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国轻工业联合会。
本标准代替GB/T 16288-1996《塑料包装制品回收标志》。本标准对定了塑料制品的标志及其尺寸、颜色、数量和设置的位置。有关标志处理方法或处理过程的规定不在本标准范围内。 本标准与GB/T 16288-1996相比，主要变化如下：
―――标准名称由《塑料包装制品回收标志》改为《塑料制品的标志》；
―――标准范围由塑料包装制品扩大至塑料制品；
―――标识等同采用了ISO 11469:2000；
―――增加了对食品用塑料、医用塑料的标识和标志的要求；
―――增加了功能性说明和补充性说明的要求。 本标准修改采用ISO 11469:2000《塑料制品的标识和标志》。

1 Scope

This Standard specifies a system of marking of plastics products, the system covers the dimension, colors, quantity and setting location of marking.
Provision for the process or processes to be used for marking is outside the scope in this Standard.
Note: The marking system is intended to help identify plastics products for subsequent decisions concerning handling waste recovery or disposal.
