《GB/T 16529.3-1997光纤光缆接头 第3部分:分规范 光纤光缆熔接式接头》由339-1（工业和信息化部（电子））归口，主管部门为工业和信息化部（电子）。
本标准适用于1.4.1定义的熔接式接头，规定了对光纤光缆熔接式接头的一般要求和最低限度的质量评定程序。
Scope
This standard is applicable to the fusion splices defined in 1.4.1, and specifies the general requirements and minimum quality assessment procedures for fusion splices of optical fiber cables (hereinafter referred to as fusion splices). These qualification procedures are designed to assess the ability of the protective part of the splice to avoid the degradation inherent in the splice and to protect the fiber optic splice from external influences. This standard does not include performance requirements for fusion splicing machines. All dimensional and optical performance requirements for fusion splices are specified in the applicable detail specification. This standard includes blank detail specifications for single-fiber fusion splices and multi-fiber fusion splices. Additional optical, mechanical and environmental performance requirements shall be specified in the detail specification.
