This standard replaces GB/T16632-2008 and revise the method for determining the scaling tendency of calcium carbonate in circulating cooling water systems. The main updates include:

Detailed explanation of the method principle
By adding supersaturated calcium carbonate solution into the water sample, reacting at a constant temperature of 80±1℃ for 4 hours, the precipitate is separated by a vacuum filtration device, and then dried and weighed.

Application Case of Thermal Power Plant
The detection of the circulating water system of a 600MW unit showed that when the measured value was 700mg/L, the scaling rate of the condenser tube wall increased by 3 times, and the acid addition adjustment program needed to be started.
