本标准依据ISO 15237:2003(E)重新起草。
本标准代替GB/T 16659-1996《煤中汞的测定方法》。
本标准规定了测定煤中汞的冷原子吸收分光光度法和基于原子荧光吸光度测定为原理的测汞仪法。
本标准适用于褐煤、烟煤和无烟煤。
本标准与GB/T 16659-1996相比,主要变化如下:
―――将原标准附录中的测定方法―――冷原子吸收分光光度法列为正文方法。
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the cold atomic absorption spectrophotometry and the mercury vapourmeter method based on the determination of atomic fluorescence absorbance as the principle for the mercury in coal.
This Standard is applicable to lignite, bituminous coal and anthracite.

3 Cold Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry
3.1 Principle
With vanadium pentoxide as the catalyst, decompose the coal sample with nitric acid - sulfuric acid to make the mercury in coal transform into the divalent mercury ion and reduce the mercury ion to mercury atom vapor. Determine the mercury content with the cold atomic absorption spectrophotometer.
