《GB/T 16685-2008信息技术 办公设备 打印设备 吞吐量的测量方法 1类和2类打印机》由TC28（全国信息技术标准化技术委员会）归口，TC28SC28（全国信息技术标准化技术委员会办公机器、外围设备和耗材分会）执行，主管部门为国家标准化管理委员会。
本标准是对ＧＢ／Ｔ１６６８５―１９９６《信息技术　打印设备　测量打印机吞吐量的方法》的修订。 本标准规定了测量１类和２类打印机吞吐量的方法。本方法适用于１类和２类打印机（例如：点阵式、菊花字轮式、喷墨式、热转印式打印机）及所有配置（例如：牵引送纸、单页送纸、８０列和超过１３２列的打印宽度等）。对于其他类的打印设备如高速页面式打印机和彩色打印机的性能比较，本方法不是最适宜的。 本标准代替ＧＢ／Ｔ１６６８５―１９９６，与ＧＢ／Ｔ１６６８５―１９９６相比，主要变化如下：
―――标准名称中增加了“办公设备”和“１类和２类打印机”；
―――标准的目次及标准正文分别增加了第２章“规范性引用文件”及“附录Ｅ（资料性附录）打印机的分类 １类和２类”。

Scope

This standard specifies the method for measuring the throughput of Class 1 and Class 2 printers. Definitions for Type 1 and Type 2 printers are given in the ISO/IEC 11160-1 standard. This standard defines three different test samples: - Standard business letter; - Data report; - Graphics. In addition, this standard defines methods for performance testing and durability testing. These benchmarks measure printer throughput for test sample files only, and do not evaluate other printer characteristics such as character shape, print compression, network/controller performance, color, etc. This method applies to Type 1 and Type 2 printers (e.g., dot-matrix, daisy-wheel, inkjet, thermal transfer) and all configurations (e.g., tractor-fed, sheet-fed, 80-column and over a print width of 132 columns, etc.). This method is not optimal for performance comparisons of other types of printing devices such as high-speed page printers and color printers. This test method is designed for use by printer manufacturers and testing agencies to obtain a common format for test reports. Reports also allow users to quickly and easily compare the throughput of different printers.
