Scope
This standard specifies the content and composition of an identification code in order to establish an identification system for road vehicle parts manufacturers worldwide. According to the wishes of the manufacturer, this identification code can be used as a substitute or additional symbol for various existing domestic and international systems such as names, addresses, trademarks, etc. This standard applies only to manufacturers of parts for road vehicles specified in ISO 3833.
