Introduction

Standard Revision Background and Technological Evolution

GB/T 16753-2023, as the basic terminology standard in the field of silicate building products, has comprehensively upgraded the 1997 version. This revision mainly reflects three major directions of technological evolution: process refinement (12 new process terms such as hydrothermal synthesis reaction were added), product diversification (23 new products such as autoclaved aerated concrete were added), and material environmental protection (9 green raw materials such as recycled aggregates from construction waste were added).

Comparison of terminology system structure

Chapters Number of terms in the 1997 version Number of terms in the 2023 version Main changes
Raw material terms 18 items 32 items 14 new items such as recycled aggregates from construction waste
Product name terms 24 items 40 items Refined classification system for autoclaved products
Process terms 9 items 16 items Supplementary new processes such as secondary deep processing

Analysis of key technical terms

3.1 Silicate building products

The new definition emphasizes the core role of hydrothermal synthesis reaction, and clearly uses hydrated calcium silicate as the main binder, which is different from cement-based products. Typical application case: Autoclaved aerated concrete blocks generate tobermorite crystals through 175℃ saturated steam curing.

7.5 Thickening process

Defines the transition process of slurry from fluid state to plastic state. Key technical indicators include: Ultimate shear stress (≥200Pa), Thickening time (40-60min). This process directly affects the stability of the pore structure of autoclaved aerated concrete board.

Implementation Suggestions

Term Application Scenarios

  1. Design Documents: Standardized names such as Silicate Hollow Blocks (hollowness ≥ 25%) should be adopted
  2. Test Report: The void ratio and porosity should be clearly distinguished according to Clause 10.3.6
  3. Construction Specifications: When citing the definition of machine-made sand in 6.18.7, the powder control requirements
  4. should be indicated

Transition Plan between New and Old Standards

Abolished Terms Alternative Terms Technical Basis
Self-curing fly ash bricks Steam-cured silicate products Article 3.8 process classification is more scientific
Aerated concrete blocks Autoclaved aerated concrete blocks Article 5.23 specifies the maintenance method
