《GB/T 16799-2008家具用皮革》由TC252（全国皮革工业标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国轻工业联合会。
本标准代替GB/T 16799-1997《家具用皮革》。
本标准规定了家具用皮革的产品分类、要求、分级、试验方法、检验规则及标志、包装、运输、贮存。本标准适用于各种家具用皮革。
本标准与GB/T 16799-1997相比，主要变化如下：
――产品分类由两类细分为三类；
――取消“抗张强度”指标；
――用“撕裂力”指标替换“撕裂强度”；
――改变了“摩擦色牢度”试验方法；
―――增加“碱性汗液”摩擦色牢度指标，分别规定了光面革、绒面革的摩擦色牢度；
―――增加“耐折牢度”、“耐光性”、“耐磨性”、“气味”等指标；
―――增加“禁用偶氮染料”、“游离甲醛”有害物质限量要求；
―――修改了产品合格判定原则。

1 Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, requirements, grading, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of furniture leather.
This standard is applicable to various furniture leathers.
