Scope

This part of GB/T 16855 specifies the safety requirements and guidelines for the design principles of safety-related components of control systems. This section also specifies the categories of these components and describes their characteristics in terms of safety functions, including programmable systems for all machinery and related guards. This section applies to all safety-related components of the control system, regardless of the type of energy used, such as electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, etc. This part is non-specific as to which security functions and which categories should be used in a particular situation. This section applies to all professional and non-professional use of machinery. Where appropriate, this section also applies to safety-related components of control systems used in other application technologies.
