Introduction

GB17149.6-1997 Standard Background and Significance

GB17149.6-1997 "Diagnostic Standards and Treatment Principles for Photoinduced Dermatitis by Cosmetics" is the first standard formulated in my country for photoinduced dermatitis by cosmetics. The standard was officially implemented in 1998 and aims to standardize the diagnosis and treatment of skin inflammation induced by light after the use of cosmetics.

Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard dimensions GB17149.6-1997 Update suggestions Scope of application
Diagnostic criteria Clearly define the history of contact + skin lesions after light exposure, and Appendix A provides the light patch test method. It is recommended to add a digital assessment tool. Applicable to photosensitive dermatitis caused by cosmetics.
Treatment principles Stop using the product, avoid light exposure, and treat symptoms. It is recommended to add long-term management guidelines. Clinical diagnosis and treatment reference.
Technical requirements Appendix B lists common allergens and their patch concentrations. It is recommended to include new photosensitive substance detection methods. Laboratory reference standards.

Explanation of professional terms and practical applications

Photodermatitis:Refers to the skin inflammatory reaction induced by light after using cosmetics, which is divided into phototoxicity and photoallergy.

Light patch test:Combined with light testing on the basis of patch, it is used to determine whether it is a photoallergic or phototoxic reaction. This method is described in detail in Appendix A.

For example, in the case of Benzophenones sensitization, a patch test with a 1% concentration combined with UVB and UVA irradiation can accurately determine the type of reaction.

Implementation recommendations and future prospects

  • It is recommended that regulatory authorities strengthen the screening of cosmetic ingredients, especially the labeling management of photosensitive substances.
  • Medical institutions should establish standardized diagnostic processes and be equipped with professional testing equipment.
  • Consumers need to improve their knowledge of cosmetic safety and avoid blind use.
  • In the future, AI technology can be combined to develop intelligent evaluation tools to improve diagnostic efficiency.
