《GB/T 17234-1998信息技术 数据交换用90 mm可重写和只读盒式光盘》由TC28（全国信息技术标准化技术委员会）归口，TC28SC23（全国信息技术标准化技术委员会光盘分会）执行，主管部门为国家标准化管理委员会。
本标准规定了：――一致性测试和参考驱动器的环境；――盒式光盘的机械和物理特性，以提供数据处理系统之间的机械互换性；――盘上信息格式，包括模压信息和用户写入的信息；――盘上模压信息的特性；――盘的磁光特性，它使处理系统能将数据写在盘上；――盘上用户写入数据的最低质量，它使数据处理系统能从盘上读出数据。

Scope

This standard specifies: - the environment for conformance testing and reference drives; - the mechanical and physical characteristics of disc cartridges to provide mechanical interchangeability between data processing systems; - the format of information on the disc, including embossed information and user-written information; -- the characteristics of the information embossed on the disc; -- the magneto-optical characteristics of the disc, which enable the processing system to write data on the disc; A data processing system is capable of reading data from the disc.
