Scope
This series of standards applies to remote control equipment and systems that monitor and control geographically distributed production processes and transmit data in serial coding. The scope of this standard is limited to telecontrol systems in the narrow sense as shown in Figure 2 of 870-1-1 published by the International Electrotechnical Commission.
