Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T 17514-2017 "Anionic and Non-ionic Polyacrylamide for Water Treatment Agents" standard replaces the previous GB/T 17514-2008. The main revisions include: the determination method of acrylamide monomer content is changed from gas chromatography to liquid chromatography, the index requirements for chloride and sulfate are added, and the technical indicators such as dissolution time and sieve residue are optimized.

2. Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard version Revised content New indicators
GB/T 17514—2008 Does not involve liquid chromatography determination of acrylamide monomer No chloride and sulfate indicators
GB/T 17514—2017 Optimized the determination method of acrylamide monomer New chloride and sulfate content indicators and detection requirements

3. Technical background and evolution analysis

>Polyacrylamide (PAM) is the core component of water treatment agents, and its performance directly affects the water treatment effect. The formulation of the GB/T 17514 series of standards mainly considers the following technical backgrounds:

  • Meet the increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements for drinking water and industrial water.
  • Adapt to the demand for high-efficiency flocculants in new sewage treatment processes.
  • Promote the advancement of detection technology, such as the application of liquid chromatography to improve the determination accuracy of acrylamide monomer.
