Scope

Certain reagents (see Concerns) used in this standard are hazardous and should be handled with caution. This standard specifies a general method for the determination of silicon, namely the reduced silicomomolybdate spectrophotometric method. This standard applies to the determination of test solutions with a silicon content (calculated as SiO2 ₂) within the range of 2 μg to 200 μg.
