1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 17889 defines terms and specifies the general design characteristics of ladders.
This Part applies to portable ladders.
This Part does not apply to step stools. It does also not apply to ladders designed for specific professional use such as fire brigade ladders, roof ladders and mobile ladders.
