Introduction
1. Introduction and background
GB/T18091-2015 "Optical and thermal performance of glass curtain walls" standard replaces the old version GB/T18091-2000, and adds requirements for curtain wall glass thermal parameters, color transmittance index classification and reflected light restriction regulations, reflecting the latest technological developments in building energy conservation and environmental impact.
2. Comparison of standard frameworks
| Standard dimensions | Old version GB/T18091-2000 | New version GB/T18091-2015 |
|---|---|---|
| Term definitions | Optical performance indicators | Photothermal performance parameters (newly added color transmittance index and reflected light restrictions) |
| Test methods | Visible light transmittance only | Includes total solar transmittance and color difference analysis |
| Performance indicators | Unspecified photothermal ratio range | New light-to-heat ratio grading system (Table 1) |
3. Core terms and practical application cases
Light-to-heat ratio (r): defined as the ratio of visible light transmittance to total solar transmittance, reflecting the energy-saving effect of glass curtain walls. For example, the grading in Table 1 shows that high light-to-heat ratio values are suitable for cold regions, while low values are suitable for hot summer and warm winter regions.
Color transmittance index (RT_a): affects the consistency of building appearance. For curtain walls that require color discrimination, such as public spaces, RT_a is required to be no less than 80 to ensure accurate color transmission.
4. Implementation suggestions
- Glass selection:Choose the appropriate glass type according to the building's climate zone. For example, Low-E insulating glass with low total solar transmittance is used in extremely cold regions.
- Testing process: Follow GB/T11976 to conduct light reduction coefficient test to ensure that the parameters meet the standard requirements.
- Reflected light control: In high-density urban areas, use glass with a visible light reflectance ratio of ≤0.16, and avoid concave design to reduce reflected light interference.
