Curtain wall classification technology system

Classification by supporting structure

  • Frame-supported curtain wall: includes three installation systems: component-type, unit-type and semi-unit-type
  • Point-supported curtain wall: two major systems of steel structure and cable structure, with a maximum span of 15 meters
  • Rib-supported curtain wall: the maximum height of the glass rib should not exceed 12 meters

Shanghai Tower adopts a unitized double-layer curtain wall system, with the outer layer being a curved glass curtain wall and the inner layer being a class=instrument>Aluminum frame curtain wall, air interlayer is equipped with mechanical ventilation system, thermal performance reaches SHGC≤0.28.

Seismic performance requirements

The standard stipulates that the curtain wall should meet the deformation capacity of 1/100 inter-story displacement angle, and X/Y/Z three-dimensional seismic verification test is required for 8-degree seismic fortification areas.

Suggestions for the implementation of the standard

  1. The bonding width requirements of the structural assembled glazing components should be clearly marked in the design stage
  2. During construction, it is important to control the curing environment of the silicone structural sealant (temperature 23±2℃, humidity 50±5%)
  3. During acceptance, a repeated opening and closing test shall be carried out in accordance with Clause 7.14 (window sashes ≥10,000 times, hardware ≥25,000 times)
