Key technology evolution
Main improvements of the 2021 standard:
- Expanding the detection range of praseodymium oxide to 0.01%-0.6%
- Adding ICP-MS-MS method to solve the 0.00001% level detection problem
- Optimizing the matrix removal efficiency of the TODGA separation column
Inductively coupled plasma tandem mass spectrometer adopts oxygen/ammonia mass transfer mode to effectively eliminate the interference of the neodymium matrix on mass numbers such as 153Tb+ and 159Dy+.
Implementation suggestions
- Method selection: ICP-MS arbitration is preferred for overlapping ranges
- Sample treatment: The surface oxide layer of metal samples needs to be removed
- Quality control points: Internal standard elements cesium (133Cs) and thallium (205Tl) need to be added online
