Introduction

GB/T 1819.14-2017 Standard Background and Technical Evolution

GB/T 1819 "Chemical Analysis Methods for Tin Concentrates" is divided into 21 parts. Part 14 of this interpretation is specifically for the determination of copper content. The standard was first published in 2006 and revised in 2017, mainly updating the precision requirements and adding test report clauses. The new version introduces stricter quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the analysis results.

Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard items GB/T 1819.14-2006 GB/T 1819.14-2017
Precision requirements Specific values not specified New precision indicators (such as repeatability limit r and reproducibility limit R)
Linearity of working curve No clear regulations Requirement that the absorbance difference ratio between the highest and lowest segments is not less than 0.70
Blank test requirements Specific operations not specified It is stipulated that a blank test must be carried out along with the sample

Requirements for reagents and instruments

Atomic absorption spectrometer is the core instrument of this standard and must be equipped with a copper hollow cathode lamp. According to the standard requirements, the instrument must meet the following indicators: characteristic concentration ≤ 0.03μg/mL, the standard deviation of the absorbance of the highest concentration standard solution does not exceed 1.0% of the average value, and the lowest concentration does not exceed 0.5%.

Flame atomic absorption spectrometry uses an air-acetylene burner, and the working conditions need to be optimized to measure the absorbance of copper at a wavelength of 324.7nm.

Implementation recommendations

  • The laboratory should calibrate the instrument regularly and ensure that the purity of the reagents meets the requirements, especially when preparing the standard solution, the concentration accuracy must be strictly controlled.
  • During sample processing, if you encounter a sample with a high silica content, it is recommended to add ammonium fluoride to improve the dissolution efficiency.
  • The working curve should include at least five different concentration points, and its linear relationship should be checked regularly to see if it meets the requirements.

Precision and quality control

Copper content range (%) Repeatability limit r (%) Reproducibility limit R (%)
0.013~2.14 r:0.002~0.09 R:0.03~0.12

Importance of test report

A complete test report is the key to ensure the traceability of analysis results. It is recommended that the report content include: sample information, standard basis, analysis data, method differences and abnormal phenomenon records.
