Introduction

Interpretation of the National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 18276—2017

1. Background and significance of the standard revision

GB/T 18276—2017 replaces the original GB/T 18276—2000, and mainly optimizes and improves the dynamic bench test methods and evaluation indicators of in-use commercial vehicles. New standard:

  • Limited scope of application to in-use commercial vehicles equipped with spark ignition or compression ignition engines
  • Added the definition of the term "drive wheel output power" to replace the terms "net power" in the old version
  • Added specific requirements for test equipment, test preparation and result evaluation
  • Adjusted the test method and deleted the contents of acceleration time, coasting distance and time test

2. Comparative analysis of standard framework

Standard Dimensions GB/T 18276—2000 GB/T 18276—2017
Scope of application All vehicle typesOnly applicable to in-use commercial vehicles, other vehicles can refer to it
Definition of terms Includes terms such as "net power" and "actual measured drive wheel output power" Added "drive wheel output power", and deleted old terms
Test indicators Acceleration time, coasting distance Drive wheel output power and wheel-side stable vehicle speed

3. Interpretation of core technical points

The core of the standard is to measure the output power of the drive wheel or the wheel-side stable vehicle speed through the chassis dynamometer as an indicator for evaluating the dynamic performance of the vehicle. The key parameters include:

  • Maximum torque condition: used to measure the output capacity of the engine at the peak torque point
  • Rated power condition: evaluates the continuous output capacity of the engine at rated speed
  • Drive wheel output power: comprehensively reflects the power transmission efficiency and mechanical status

4. Implementation Suggestions and Notes

Actual Application Case Analysis

Taking a heavy-duty truck as an example, the drive wheel output power under the maximum torque condition should reach the recommended value in Appendix A. The specific implementation steps are as follows:

  1. Test preparation: Ensure that the vehicle is unloaded and the tire pressure meets the requirements (tread depth ≥1.6mm)
  2. Environmental monitoring: Record temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure with an accuracy of ±1.5K, ±5%, ±0.5kPa
  3. Operating condition calculation: Calculate the maximum torque speed (v_M) and rated power speed (v_P) based on engine parameters

This standard provides a unified technical basis for the dynamic performance evaluation of operating vehicles. It is recommended that relevant testing institutions strictly follow the standard requirements to equip chassis dynamometers that meet the technical requirements of JT/T 445, and regularly calibrate the equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
