Scope
This standard specifies the measurement procedure for the return loss of the fiber optic device under test. The reflectance distribution of single-mode optical devices is measured with micrometer-level spatial resolution and high dynamic range by employing low optical coherence interferometry. The return loss of single-mode devices is measured with centimeter-level spatial resolution and high dynamic range by employing the optical frequency domain reflectometry method.
