Introduction

GB/T 18429—2018 Standard Background and Evolution

This standard was revised in 2018, replacing the old version from 2001. The main revisions include expanding the scope of application, adding safety requirements and performance test methods.

Interpretation of technical requirements and test methods

Air tightness test of fully enclosed scroll refrigerant compressor: Use dry nitrogen or air to check to ensure that there is no leakage in the shell. For example, in high-temperature compressors, when the test pressure is not lower than the design pressure, it is necessary to check in a water tank for at least 1 minute.

Performance test method

Performance index Test method
Volumetric flow rate Measured according to GB/T 34619 to ensure that the measured value meets the design requirements.
Coefficient of performance for cooling/heating Tested according to GB/T 5773 method under nominal conditions, with a tolerance of no more than ±5%.

Internal impurities and residual moisture control

For compressors in different power ranges, there are different limits on the internal impurity content and residual moisture. For example, for compressors with a rated power of >8kW, the internal impurity content shall not exceed 1500mg, and the residual moisture shall not exceed 18000mg.

Implementation suggestions

  1. Manufacturing companies should strictly follow the technical requirements in the standard during the design and production process.
  2. Carry out a comprehensive inspection before the product leaves the factory, including air tightness and performance testing.
  3. Strengthen employee training to ensure the correct implementation of the test methods, especially those involving complex testing equipment.
  4. It is recommended to use the GB/T 13306 standard to make nameplates, and to carry out safety markings in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 9237.
