Scope

This standard specifies the general test method for comparing the color of a pigment with the color of an agreed reference pigment of the same type. Chapter 6 of this standard provides two methods for preparing dispersions. The method for preparing dispersions with an automatic mill is the referee method, This standard applies to the comparison of the color of a pigment with an agreed reference pigment of the same type. When this general method is not applicable to a specific pigment, a special method should be specified for color comparison.
