《GB/T 5211.1-2003颜料水溶物测定 冷萃取法》由TC5（全国涂料和颜料标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国石油和化学工业联合会。
本标准规定了测定颜料样品在冷水中可溶物含量的通用试验方法。

Scope

This standard specifies a general test method for the determination of the soluble content of pigment samples in cold water. GB/T 5211.2 specifies the method for determining the content of water-soluble substances by thermal extraction. For most pigments and extenders, these two test methods will give different test results, so the method used should be clearly indicated in the technical requirements, and the method used should be indicated in the test report. NOTE: This method is generally applicable to any pigment and extender. Reference should therefore be made to this method standard in the product standard for pigments or extenders and any detailed changes required due to the nature of the material should be noted. A different method is specified for the determination of water solubles only if this general method is not applicable to a particular material.
