GB/T 18781-2008 in English

《GB/T 18781-2008珍珠分级》由TC256（全国首饰标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国轻工业联合会。
本标准制定时参考了国际珠首饰联合会（CIBJO）制定的《珍珠手册》（1995），以及美国宝石学院（GIA）珍珠分级、日本真珠振兴会等标准。
本标准代替GB/T 18781-2002《养殖珍珠分级》。
本标准规定了养殖珍珠的术语和定义、分类、质量因素及其级别、等级指标、检验方法和标识的要求。本标准适用于养殖珍珠的生产、贸易、质量评价等活动，不适用于经辐照、染色等处理的养殖珍珠的分级。
天然珍珠的分级也可参照执行。
本标准与GB/T 18781-2002相比主要变化如下：
―――标准的名称改为“珍珠分级”；
―――将前言中的“美国珠宝学院（GIA）”修改为：“美国宝石学院（GIA）”；
―――将前言中的“日本真珠振兴协会”修改为：“日本真珠振兴会”；
―――取消珠层厚度标准样品和光洁度标准样品；
―――取消“淡水有核养殖珍珠形状级别”和“淡水有核养殖珍珠珠层厚度级别”条款；
―――珠层厚度检验方法增加了光学相干层析法，并对Ｘ 射线照相法进行了修改。

Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, quality factors and their grades, grade indicators, inspection methods and labeling requirements of cultured pearls. This standard applies to activities such as production, trade, and quality evaluation of cultured pearls, but not to the grading of cultured pearls that have been irradiated or dyed. The grading of natural pearls can also be implemented by reference.
