Scope

This part of GB/T 18905 introduces other parts of GB/T 18905. It gives an overview of the other parts, explaining the relationship between GB/T 18905 and the quality model in the ISO/IEC 9126 standard. This part also defines the technical terms used in other parts, includes the general requirements of software quality specification and evaluation, and clarifies the general concepts. In addition, it also provides a framework for evaluating the quality of various types of software products, and illustrates the needs of software product measurement and evaluation methods. GB/T 18905 is intended to be used by software developers, software buyers and independent evaluators, especially those responsible for software product evaluation. The evaluation results generated by applying GB/T 18905 can be used by managers, developers or maintainers to measure whether the software meets the requirements, and improve where necessary. Analysts can use the evaluation results to establish relationships between internal and external metrics. Process improvers can use the evaluation results to determine how to improve the process by researching and examining the project's product quality information.
