Interpretation of the core content of the standard

This standard specifies two technical methods for simulating road driving resistance of motorcycles on a chassis dynamometer: road coasting test method (Chapters 7-9) and table lookup method (Chapter 10). The main revisions of the 2017 version include:

  • Expanding the scope of application to three-wheeled motorcycles
  • Adding a table lookup method as an alternative
  • Refining the environmental condition control requirements

Test condition control

  • Road requirements: horizontal dry road surface, longitudinal slope ≤0.5%
  • Environmental restrictions: wind speed ≤3m/s, temperature 5-35℃, humidity ≤95%
  • Vehicle preparation: running-in must be completed, and the tire pressure must meet the manufacturer's standards

Implementation recommendations

Principles for method selection

  • Road sliding method is preferred: Applicable to scenarios where accurate simulation of the resistance of a specific vehicle model is required
  • Applicable scenarios for the table lookup method: Rapid test of conventional quality vehicles, with attention to the applicability of vehicles with special structures
