《GB/T 18983-2003油淬火-回火弹簧钢丝》由TC183（全国钢标准化技术委员会）归口，TC183SC3（全国钢标准化技术委员会盘条及钢丝分会）执行，主管部门为中国钢铁工业协会。
本标准规定了油淬火－回火弹簧钢丝的分类与代号、订货内容、尺寸、外形及允许偏差、制造方法、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、包装、标志和质量证明书等。本标准适用于制造各种机械弹簧用碳素和低合金油淬火－回火圆形截面钢丝。

This standard specifies the classification and designation, order contents, dimensions, appearance and permissible deviation, manufacturing methods, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packing, marking and quality certificate of oil-hardened and tempered steel wire for mechanical springs (hereinafter referred to as steel wire).
This standard is applicable to the manufacture of various oil-hardened and tempered carbon and low alloy steel wires with circular cross sections, which are used for mechanical springs.
