Introduction

GB/T 19068.1—2017 Standard Overview

GB/T 19068.1—2017 "Small Wind Turbines Part 1: Technical Conditions" is a national standard of the People's Republic of China, which is used to specify the technical requirements of small horizontal axis wind turbines for grid-connected or off-grid applications. This standard applies to small wind turbines with a rotor swept area of no more than $200~\mathrm{m^{2}}$ and a voltage of less than $1000~\mathrm{V}$ for AC or $1500~\mathrm{V}$ for DC.

Background of Standard Formulation and Technological Evolution

This standard is a revision of GB/T 19068.1—2003. The main improvements include:

  • Expanded the scope of application
  • Adjusted the content of generators
  • Introduced the GB/T17646 design grade classification method
  • Modified the cut-in wind speed and rated wind speed requirements

Comparison of core technical conditions

Items Old version of the standard (GB/T 19068.1—2003) New version of the standard (GB/T 19068.1—2017)
Scope of application Only applicable to off-grid wind turbines Extended to grid-connected and off-grid applications
Cut-in wind speed Not specified Not greater than $4.0~\mathrm{m/s}$
Rated wind speed Not specified Not greater than $11.0~\mathrm{m/s}$

Implementation Suggestions and Precautions

Implementation Suggestions:

  1. Ensure that the unit model complies with JB/T 7879 requirements
  2. Select a suitable generator and controller that meet the requirements of GB/T10760.1 and GB/T 34521 respectively
  3. Perform power characteristic test and durability test in accordance with the standards

Notes:

  • Pay attention to the ratio of the maximum operating speed to the rated speed of the unit
  • Ensure that the painting, marking and packaging meet the requirements of JB/T5673
  • Properly preserve the accompanying documents, including the user manual and technical manual
