Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types and main parameters, general technical requirements, equipment structure, stability and mechanical design calculation, gondola, lifting mechanism, suspension device, track, electrical system and control system, test methods, inspection rules, marking, random documents, etc. of the window cleaning machine. This standard includes the design calculation of the track and its support system of the window cleaning machine, the relevant load regulations for the wheel load of the window cleaning machine applied to the building structure, and the safety requirements for the installation of the window cleaning machine on the building and structure. This standard includes the relevant significant hazards in the operation of the window cleaning machine. This standard describes the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce the occurrence of significant hazards. The window cleaning machines involved in this standard and the degree of hazard involved must be within the scope of this standard. This standard assumes the following conditions: a) The manufacturer or supplier needs to consult with the purchaser or employer on the specific local installation conditions and the expected functions and requirements; b) A risk analysis has been conducted on each assembly component of the window cleaning machine, and the rules are formulated based on this assumption; c) The basic safety requirements for components in this standard are: reliable mechanical and electrical processing and manufacturing capabilities and means; sufficient strength and appropriate material manufacturing; no visual defects; d) No harmful materials such as asbestos are used; e) The equipment is kept in good working condition; f) Any mechanical device that is well processed and produced in accordance with this standard will not be damaged to a dangerous level without being noticed; g) The operating environment temperature range is between -10 and +55°C; h) The building structure where the window cleaning machine is installed must be strong enough to withstand the expected loads. This standard applies to power-driven or manual window cleaning machines in buildings or structures. This standard does not apply to: a) harsh and special working conditions (such as harsh environmental conditions, corrosive environments, strong magnetic field environments); b) working under specific rules (such as working in explosive atmospheres, working with electricity); c) transporting personnel from one floor to another; d) carrying dangerous items (such as molten metal, acidic substances, radioactive materials, fragile items); e) gondolas suspended from cranes; f) silo maintenance equipment; g) equipment that directly suspends gondolas using chains; h) equipment that directly suspends gondolas using fiber ropes; i) equipment used for underground operations; j) equipment used for shaft operations; k) equipment directly driven by internal combustion engines; l) automatic window cleaning robots.
