Reverse osmosis water treatment equipment

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and models, requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of reverse osmosis water treatment equipment (hereinafter referred to as equipment).

This standard is applicable to the equipment for desalting, purification and separation of water by using reverse osmosis membrane (spiral wound type and disk tube type) technology.

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions and those given in GB/T 20103 apply. For the convenience of application, some terms and definitions in GB/T 20103 are re-listed as follows.

reverse osmosis; RO

process of solvent (such as water) entering the low pressure side of the membrane through the semi-permeable membrane under the pressure higher than osmotic pressure difference, leaving other components (such as salt) in the solution blocked at the high pressure side of the membrane and discharged with the concentrated solution, thus achieving an effective separation

reverse osmosis membrane

semi-permeable membrane for separating solvent from solute in the reverse osmosis process

3.3

spiral wound reverse osmosis membrane element

combined member formed by reverse osmosis membrane and porous and reticulated spacer layer by winding around the axis and water collection pipe according to certain technical requirements

disk tube reverse osmosis membrane module

disk tube membrane module formed by stacking the diaphragm and the guide disk together, fixing them with center link and end cover flange, and then placing them in the pressure-resistant shell. It is mainly composed of reverse osmosis membrane, guide disk, center link, shell, various sealing elements of flanges at both ends and connecting bolts

4 Classification and models

4.1 The productivity (m3/h) of a single unit/set of equipment is divided into the following three categories:

Small equipment: with the productivity not more than 50m3/h;

Medium equipment: with the productivity of 50m3/h (excluding) to 200m3/h (excluding);

Large equipment: with the productivity more than 200m3/h.
