Scope

This standard specifies the conceptual data model, logical data model and data exchange format of geographic databases on which navigation geographic information depends. It describes what such a database might have (features, attributes, and relationships), and how to express that and how to define relevant information about the database itself (metadata). This standard focuses on describing roads and road-related information. However, it also includes other relevant information required by intelligent transportation system (ITS) applications, such as: Example 1: ITS applications need to use address system information to describe locations and/or destinations, so this standard uses information such as administrative divisions and postal divisions as One of the important contents; Example 2: Map display is an important part of ITS applications. In order to better display and express maps, this standard includes information such as land cover and rivers; Example 3: Points of interest (or service information are travelers The main information concerned has great use value for ITS end users. This standard is applicable to ITS applications. The conceptual data model is not only applicable to ITS applications, but also to other related applications. It is actually independent of applications and can be used with Integrate with other geographic database standards. This standard only stipulates the representation method of geographic data, and does not involve the specific content of the data. In the process of using this standard, if the content of the electronic map data used by the user conflicts with the national map confidentiality principle, it should be First, abide by the confidentiality principle of national map data.
