《GB/T 1979-2001结构钢低倍组织缺陷评级图》由TC183（全国钢标准化技术委员会）归口，TC183SC14（全国钢标准化技术委员会金相检验方法分会）执行，主管部门为中国钢铁工业协会。
本标准规定和描述了机构钢酸浸低倍组织缺陷的分类、特征、产生原因及评定原则、评级图分类及适用范围、评定方法和检验报告。本标准适用于评定碳素结构钢、合金结构钢、弹簧钢钢材（锻、轧坯）横截面酸浸低倍组织中允许及不允许的缺陷。根据供需双方协议，也可作用评定其他钢类低倍组织的缺陷。

1 Scope
This national standard specifies and describes classification, characteristics, causes and evaluation principles of the acid pickling macrostructure and defect of structural steels, and also the classification, application scope, evaluation methods and survey reports of standard diagrams.
This standard is applicable to evaluate allowable and unallowable defect of acid pickling macrostructure in the cross section of carbon construction steel, alloy constructional steel, spring steels (forged and rolled steels). According to mutual agreement between the supply and demand sides, it also may be used to evaluate the defect of steel-type macrostructure.

3 Sample interception and display methods
Sample interception and display methods shall comply with those specified in GB/T 226. Other sample display methods also may be adopted according to mutual agreement between supply and demand sides.
