Introduction
GB/T 19960-2024 Standard Overview
GB/T 19960-2024 "General Technical Conditions and Test Methods for Wind Turbine Generator Sets in Wind Power Generation Systems" is a national standard formulated for large horizontal axis grid-connected wind turbine generator sets. This standard replaces GB/T 19960.1-2005 and GB/T 19960.2-2005, and mainly comprehensively revises the scope of application, term definitions, technical requirements and test methods.
Comparison of Standard Frameworks
| Standard Items | GB/T 19960.1-2005 | GB/T 19960.2-2005 | GB/T 19960-2024 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scope of Application | Applicable only to onshore wind turbines | Applicable only to test methods | Covering onshore and offshore wind turbines |
| Definition of Terms | Not specified in detail | Not specified in detail | Newly added terms such as "annual availability" and "yaw system" |
| Technical requirements | Relatively brief | Relatively brief | Detailed vibration characteristics, noise requirements and safety protection requirements |
Technical requirements interpretation
GB/T 19960-2024 has comprehensively upgraded the technical requirements for wind turbines, including:
- Environmental conditions: The operating environmental parameters of onshore and offshore units are clarified, and technical requirements for ultra-high altitudes and special sea areas are added.
- Life and availability: The design life of onshore units shall not be less than 20 years, and the design life of offshore units shall not be less than 25 years, and the annual availability requirement shall be increased to more than 95%.
- Vibration characteristics: New requirements for aeroelastic analysis have been added to ensure that the blades will not suffer structural damage due to stall or resonance.
- Noise control: The noise level when the output power is 1/3 of the rated power must be controlled below 110 dB(A), and optimization measures for special environments on land and at sea are proposed.
Test methods and inspection rules
The standard has added electromagnetic compatibility test requirements to ensure stable operation of the unit in a complex power grid environment. At the same time, the test content of the safety protection function has been refined, including protection mechanisms in extreme cases such as overspeed, overvibration and power grid power failure.
Implementation recommendations
Case analysis: Application of an offshore wind farm
In actual projects, it is recommended to:
- Strictly select unit components and systems in accordance with standard requirements to ensure that they meet the design life and environmental adaptability.
- Added configuration requirements for fire-fighting equipment, and the effectiveness of fire-fighting equipment needs to be checked regularly.
- For special environments (such as high salt spray, low temperature, etc.), it is recommended to negotiate with the manufacturer for customized protection solutions.
