Introduction
Interpretation of the National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 19962—2016
1. Standard background and revision instructions
This standard replaces GB/T 19962—2005, mainly adding technical requirements such as active power, reactive capacity, and voltage control, and deleting contents such as power balance and flow calculation. The following is a comparison between the new and old versions:
| Technical requirements | 2005 version | 2016 version |
|---|---|---|
| Active power control | Not explicitly required | Newly added, requiring participation in frequency regulation and peak regulation |
| Reactive capacity configuration | Briefly mentioned | Detailed provisions on the principle of layered and zoned compensation |
| Voltage control range | Not explicitly required | Newly added, clarifying the voltage control standard for grid connection points |
2. Standard Framework and Technical Requirements
2.1 Scope of application
This standard applies to geothermal power stations connected to the power system through $35~\mathrm{kV}$ and above voltage level lines, including new construction, reconstruction and expansion projects. Power stations of other voltage levels can refer to it.
2.2 Main technical requirements
The standard covers the following key indicators:
- Active power regulation capability: The normal regulation rate of the unit should not be less than $1\%$ of the rated power per minute.
- Reactive capacity configuration: Layered and zoned compensation is required to ensure system voltage stability.
- Voltage control range: The voltage at the grid connection point should be controlled between $97\% \sim 107\%$ of the nominal voltage.
- Power quality: Meet the requirements of GB/T 12325 and GB/T 12326.
3. Implementation suggestions and precautions
3.1 Design stage
During the design stage of geothermal power plants, the following aspects should be focused on:
- Voltage level selection: According to the current status of the power grid and the demonstration of future development scale, it is recommended to give priority to the voltage level of $35~\mathrm{kV}$ and above.
- Wiring method: Multiple geothermal power plants should adopt the method of stepping up and sending out after aggregation to improve the operating efficiency of the system.
3.2 Operation and maintenance stage
During the operation and maintenance stage, the following matters should be noted:
- Reactive power regulation: The generator set should have the ability to dynamically adjust the power factor (leading $0.95 \sim$ and lagging $0.9$) when operating at rated power.
- Voltage control: Ensure that the voltage at the grid connection point is within the normal range to avoid exceeding the voltage and causing grid fluctuations.
4. Standard significance and future prospects
The release of GB/T 19962-2016 marks the standardization and maturity of geothermal power generation technology in my country. With the advancement of renewable energy technology, future standards will focus on optimizing the following aspects:
- Intelligence: Promote the application of automation and intelligent control technology.
- Compatibility: Improve the adaptability and interoperability of geothermal power stations and power grids.
- Environmental protection: Strengthen technical requirements for power quality and environmental impact.
