Product classification system

The standard divides spherical nickel hydroxide into three categories:

  1. Zinc-added type: Typical grade Zn3Co1.3, nickel content ≥57%, used for high-capacity batteries
  2. Cadmium-added type: Typical grade Cd3Co1, nickel content ≥57.5%, suitable for high-temperature environment
  3. Cobalt-coated type: Surface coated with 3-3.5% cobalt, such as Zn4Co1.3-Co3.5, to improve conductivity
X-ray diffractometer is used to detect β-crystal structure, (101) half-peak width requirement ≥0.85°

Innovation in detection methods

Main improvements in the new standard in chemical analysis:

  • Atomic absorption spectrometry for the determination of 9 metal impurities, with a detection limit of 0.014μg/mL
  • Barium sulfate gravimetric method for the determination of sulfate, with a repeatability limit of ≤0.008% (at 0.05% content)
  • Newly added nitrate spectrophotometry, with detection at a wavelength of 410nm
The electrochemical test adopts the AA type nickel-hydrogen battery standard model, and the weight of the positive electrode dry powder is controlled at (5.8±0.1)g/piece

Implementation suggestions

  1. Raw material control: It is recommended to establish an early warning mechanism for Fe and Cu content and use ICP-MS for trace detection
  2. Process optimization: Cobalt-coated products need to be vacuum-sealed to prevent oxidation
  3. Test verification: It is recommended to perform 3 cycles of discharge platform rate test and take the average value
  4. Storage management: Strictly control the temperature and humidity of the warehouse ≤25℃/70%RH
