Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T 2092-2024 "Industrial Sebacic Acid" is the technical specification for industrial sebacic acid in the national standard, replacing the previous GB/T 2092-1992. This standard applies to industrial sebacic acid made from castor oil as raw material, and specifies its technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules.

2. Main changes in the standard

  • The technical requirements have been changed: superior products, first-grade products and qualified products have been changed to refined type and ordinary type, and the determination method for diacid has been added.
  • The determination method and sample weight of ash and moisture have been modified.
  • The melting point range and other test index requirements have been updated.

Case study: total acid determination

Reagents and instruments:Neutral ethanol solution, sodium hydroxide standard titration solution, phenolphthalein indicator, 50mL conical flask, 25mL burette.

Steps:

  1. Weigh 1.5g sample (accurate to 0.0001g).
  2. Add neutral ethanol solution, and after dissolving, add phenolphthalein indicator.
  3. Titrate with sodium hydroxide standard titrant until it turns slightly red, and record the consumed volume.
