《GB/T 20975.18-2008铝及铝合金化学分析方法 第18部分：铬含量的测定》由TC243（全国有色金属标准化技术委员会）归口，TC243SC1（全国有色金属标准化技术委员会轻金属分会）执行，主管部门为中国有色金属工业协会。
本标准规定了铝及铝合金中铬含量的测定方法。本方法适用于铝及铝合金中铬含量的测定。测定范围：（方法1）0.0001%--0.60%。（方法2）0.010%--0.60%。本部分代替ＧＢ／Ｔ６９８７．１８―２００１《铝及铝合金化学分析方法　火焰原子吸收光谱法测定铬量》和ＧＢ／Ｔ６９８７．３０―２００１《铝及铝合金化学分析方法　萃取分离?二苯基碳酰二肼分光光度法测定铬量》。
与ＧＢ／Ｔ６９８７．１８―２００１相比主要变化如下：
―――将６９８７．３０―２００１内容作为本部分的“方法一：萃取分离?二苯基碳酰二肼分光光度法”，原标准内容作为“方法二：火焰原子吸收光谱法”；
―――将测定范围由０．００３０％～０．６０％修订为０．０１０％～０．６０％；
―――增加了“重复性”条款；
―――增加了“质量保证与控制”条款；
―――对允许差进行了修改。
