本标准规定了对限定有害生物或物品采用电离辐射技术进行辐照处理的具体程序和技术准则。本标准不包括用于以下方面的处理：――为防治有害生物生产不育生物；――卫生处理（食品安全和家畜卫生）；――保持或改进商品质量（如：储存期限延长）；――诱发突变。
Scope
This standard specifies the specific procedures and technical guidelines for irradiating regulated pests or articles with ionizing radiation technology. This standard does not cover treatments used for: - production of sterile organisms for pest control; - sanitation (food safety and animal hygiene); - maintenance or improvement of commodity quality (e.g. shelf-life extension); - mutagenesis.
